FW: Technical Discussion

Synopsis...

A weak trough exits the SE part of the state during the overnight, with high pressure building in and dominating the weather for the next several days.

Short Term...

North and Western PA will be clear overnight, with the South and Eastern portions of the states seeing a cloud or two before the morning wake-up. Raw GFS and NAM suggest strong clearing for Thursday and into the early weekend, and the WRF showing a deep pocket of dry air building in with high pressure over the state. NW flow will keep humidity away overnight through the weekend. Overall, expect warm and dry conditions to persist through the weekend.

Long Term...

A strong ridge of high pressure will persist through the early part of next week, and will breed much warmer temperatures. GFS seems most reliable for temperatures with this ridge and deep pocket of dry air hanging over the region. Dew Points will stay lower. This weather pattern is not expected to change in the long term...
