Synopsis...
Not much change to the previous thinking. Weakened trough is slowly exiting the eastern regions as clear and sunny skies will persist for the next few days. Temperatures will trend higher as we approach the weekend and next week.
Short term...
High pressure moves in from the west throughout the early portions of the south region. The models are in excellent consensus on location and strength of high pressure moving in, with the NAM, GFS, WRF all painting similar pictures. As in the previous discussion, warmer temperatures and dry air will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
Long term...
Much of the same in the long term with warmer temps and dry conditions. Both the GFS and DGEX show persistent high pressure over the eastern CONUS for the forecast period. Temperatures will remain warm with relatively low humidity and lower dew points.
