Short-term

A strong high pressure  will remain over the eastern seaboard through Thursday.  A weak ridge builds over the Northeast Wednesday into Friday.  Dry air will be advected into the upper levels leading to mostly clear skies for the mid-Atlantic.

Long term

A deep upper level trough will dig into the eastern seaboard.   Late Thursday, a cold front will move through the southeastern portions of the US bringing precipitation to areas south of the Mason Dixon Line. The northern mid-Atlantic region will remain relatively dry with some increase in cloud cover late Thursday into Friday.  Over the weekend, a strong upper level ridge will build over the region, translating to a strong surface high pressure.
