Tuesday Night Technical Discussion

The area of high pressure currently residing over Pennsylvania will keep moving east on Wednesday. By Wednesday afternoon, most of the Commonwealth will be on the western side of the high pressure which will lead to more of a southerly flow and warm air advection allowing temperatures to rise into the mid to upper 50's. On Thursday, the high pressure will slide to the coast ahead of another cold front. Pre frontal warm advection will again push temperatures into the upper 50's. Skies will cloud up with a few showers possible mainly in northern Pennsylvania Thursday night as a weak cold front pushes through the state. Skies will again clear by midday Friday as another area of high pressure pushes in from the west bringing more of a northwesterly flow again and bringing temperatures down to the lower 50's in the afternoon. The high pressure will move over the area through the weekend with the ridge axis pushing through late Saturday. After the ridge axis pushes through, winds will again turn southerly and warmer temperatures near 60 degrees will return as we move into Sunday and Monday.
