Synopsis: After a trickery weekend, Mother Nature has given us a treat of a week! High pressure will remain in control for the next 5 days, being the wall to all interesting weather trying to affect us.
Short-term: Morning fog in the river valleys will burn off, temperatures will rise in those fog areas rapidly to compare to those who just have sun. Both the GFS and NAM show the high pressure and clear conditions over us for the next few days. A potent low out in the Midwest will try to take an aim at us for the end of the week, but as stated above, high pressure will force it south, helping it become a cut off low. Temperatures will be around average for the time period.
Long-term: Both models show a turning trough rolling though the northern parts of the region on Friday. The difference between the two is that the NAM shows clouds and the chance of precipitation (as light as it can show) across the northern zones. The GFS has no clouds for the same period of concern. Never the less, threw the chance of clouds into the forecast for Friday morning. The weekend, high pressure will still be in control (a new one following in on the heels of that northern trough), somewhat strong with it bouncing between 1024 and 1028mb. The GFS has it located in New England during the weekend. Temperatures once again, around average for the time of year.
Kept temperatures near previous shift.
