Synopsis: High pressure will continue to dominate the region until late Tuesday. When a tropical low-pressure system will move up the east coast off the United States and bring unsettled weather to the region.
The strong ridge that has been bringing us above normal temperatures for the last week will continue to stay put until late Tuesday into Wednesday. Both the GFS and NAM show a significant tropical low-pressure system developing off the coast of Florida and moving up the East Coast. This system will finally force out the ridge of high pressure that has dominated our region. The system will be picked up and moved up the coast by a long-wave trough on the Central United States. Both models agree on this; however, the 18Z GFS does not show the low-pressure system becoming as strong as the 18Z WRF. The tropical low-pressure system will bring us unsettled weather, mostly clouds and showers, throughout the end of the week.
