Wednesday Night - 10/12/2011

Synposis: A low pressure will scoot along the east coast leaving behind cloudy and wet condition. Another low pressure system will move north of the region Friday bringing unsettled weather. A strong cold front will move into the region as the center of low pressure moves over the great lakes. Breezy and cool conditions will follow for the weekend. Conditions should improve briefly Sunday and into the beginning of next week.
 
Short term: A low pressure system is currently moving north along the coast bringing thick clouds and spotty showers. Spotty drizzle can be expected tonight along with patchy fog. This system will gradually pull north which will dry out the region briefly on Thursday. A relatively strong surface cold front will move into the region Friday as a low pressure cuts north across the Great Lakes. Showers and breezy conditions will accompany the front during the day Friday. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible as warmer air moves in ahead of the front. Cool and breezy conditions will be prevalent overnight Friday.
 
Long term: Much cooler and very breezy conditions will be present in the wake of the cold front. Generally cloudy skies will persist Saturday as a northwest flow will dominate the weather pattern. Skies may clear briefly Saturday night allowing for temperatures to drop. Conditions should warm up slightly on Sunday before another front moves into the region. This relatively weak frontal system will move into northern Pennsylvania during the day Sunday. This system will bring clouds and a short stint of showers to the northern most areas of the commonwealth.  After this weak front moves through expect a brief period of warmer and calmer conditions until yet another storm sytem moves into the eastern United States.
