Summary:
The low pressure system that has been stalled over the northeast and great lakes region moves slowly eastward out over the Atlantic Ocean. Behind the surface low pressure system a high pressure systems settles over the east coast. Negative vorticity advection along with drier conditions aloft will lead to clear skies for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Temperatures will rebound into the mid 60s to low 70s .
Short-term ( Tuesday night into Wednesday)
The surface low pressure system that has been stalled over the region will move east out of our area into the Atlantic Ocean. A high pressure system will move over the the eastern portions of United States on Wednesday. Negative Vorticity advection will combine with a northerly flow to dry out the mid-Atlantic region and lead to clear skies for the week. Temperatures will initially warm up on Wednesday as skies become clear
Long term (Thursday into the weekend.)
A surface high pressure will continue over the region for the majority of the week and into the early portions of weekend. Temperatures will slowly rise above normal conditions for most parts of Pennsylvania due to warm advection late in the week.
