Synopsis: Large area of surface high pressure has engulfed the region today and will provide dry and sunny conditions through the weekend and into early next week. Overnight temperatures will get quite chilly over the first few days, with increasing temperatures into the weekend. By early next week the area could be at or above seasonal temperatures.
Short Term: Upper level ridge will build in resulting in a large surface high pressure. Abundent sunshine and warmer, more seasonable temperatures will occompany this high. Tranquil conditions can be expected straight through Thursday and Friday. Overnight temperatures will dip into the 30's across the area both nights; however, due to a lack of clouds and radiative cooling. Mountain zones may see frost and freeze advisories.
Long Term: All models converge on the idea of upper level ridging sticking around through at least early next week. Warmer temperatures will be brought in through advection as the state finds itself in a southwesterly flow this weekend. Temperatures will become above seasonal by early next week.
