Sunday Afternoon
Not much happening this week: (1) lingering showers from UL divergence today and (2) high pressure, cloud cover and a new temperature trend for the rest of the week. Monday through Friday looks nice. Cold front nears the state Friday. Take a look at 850 & 700 mb temps, 500 mb & jet-stream-level height contours/ isotachs to see the cooler air aloft and thus, cooler sfc. temps to start the week. Temps. will start to warm up Tuesday or Wednesday, which is earlier than what last week's runs suggested. A fall-like pattern looks less likely, but a taste of fall over the next 48 hours is almost certain. Model confidence is pretty high, but they had trouble figuring out (1) when the high moves offshore and (2) when the cold front nears.
