Synopsis:

High pressure that has brought beautiful autumn temperatures to the commonwealth will continue to dominate the weather for the next 36-48 hours.  By late Friday it will start to move out to sea. This will allow for a cold front to approach the region Saturday bringing with it the chilliest air of the season so far. Below normal temperature will continue into the beginning of next week.

Short Term: Thursday –Saturday

After a chilly morning with frost possible in the North Central Mountains, the day will turn out to be a beautiful one across Pennsylvania. The temperatures will be in the upper 60's across the north and 70's across the rest of the state.  Friday will be slightly warmer as 850 mb temperatures warm and winds turn out of south.  Saturday will be the most active day of the period with the cold front passage. It should occur in the morning over the NW Mountains and across the east by the afternoon.  This will lead to showers developing and possible thunderstorms in the east as temperatures warm into the low 80's.

Long Term: Sunday-Monday

A deep trough will move into the area bringing with it possible clouds and showers on Sunday. Temperatures will only make it into the upper 50's across the west, with mid 60's across the eastern half of state.  The chilly air will last for a few days before moderating mid next week.
