Synopsis:
- CWS General Discussion:
A stationary front is currently stretched from northern IL to western PA to Washington, D.C. and out to sea through the southern Delaware Bay. Issac's remnant low is located just east of St. Louis, MO. An upper-level low pressure system over southwestern Canada and a cold front in the western US will slide eastward. All these systems will "combine" over the next two or three days to wreak havoc over PA. Rain and thunderstorms will be the story for the week: mostly a hit or miss, heavy or light scenario. With the clouds and precipitation, temperatures won't budge much.
Short Term:
The systems combine over the Great Lakes. Two branches of the 500-mb wind streams. PA is in between. Rain and thunderstorms likely: hit or miss, light or heavy.
Long Range:
The systems slide N & E, cold front moves through late-week. Rain and thunder continues in the hit/miss & light/heavy variety.
