Monday Evening Technical Discussion

Synopsis

A nice day on Monday will give way to an active Tuesday. As the flow becomes zonal, temperatures will return to near to above normal for most of the week.  On Tuesday, a weak area of low pressure will move over the area and bring the chance for light precipitation. Once this moves out, another disturbance will move through on Thursday. This storm will likely bring more rain than snow as the surface low passes to our west. Behind this low, things will dry out a bit but skies will likely remain mostly cloudy.

Short Term

After a gorgeous day, temperatures have fallen quickly but have leveled off as some high clouds have moved in. This will prevent temperatures from falling much further as an area of low pressure approaches from the west overnight. This will bring the chance for some rain and snow showers Tuesday over much of the area. Behind this low, we will have mostly cloudy skies on Wednesday with temperatures a tad above normal.

Long Term

Another area of low pressure will move into the area on Thursday. It will bring the chance for more precipitation. Most of the models agree with a track through the Ohio River valley which portends to a mostly rain solution with not much chance for snow. We will monitor this storm for future trends. Beyond this storm, conditions will improve with party to mostly cloudy skies as we head into the weekend.
