Short Term: A shot of autumn weather has overtaken the commonwealth and it will last for a few more days before warmer air arrives. A cold front will move through Friday with some showers likely during the morning and afternoon, especially across western portions of the state. High pressure will quickly move in behind the cold front later on Friday bring a northwesterly flow with much cooler temperatures. Most areas of the state will fall into the 20's overnight Friday. High pressure will bring clear skies Saturday with temperatures modest in the mid 50's.
Long Term: The high pressure from the weekend will begin sliding east overnight Saturday bringing a more southerly flow Sunday. This will allow for much warmer temperatures in the upper 60's. A large area of low pressure in the central plains will start pushing our way Sunday. The warm front should pass by Sunday afternoon allowing most of the state to get a few showers in the afternoon. The storm system will finally push through Pennsylvania Monday afternoon bringing periods of rain to the Commonwealth. The rain will end overnight as we see a brief break in wet weather ahead of another system that will come through Wednesday. Temperatures next week will be mild in the mid 60's as the storm systems will keep a southerly flow around for the majority of the week.
