Synopsis: The Commonwealth will experience colder weather due to a cold air mass in place as a result of a front passing through on Wednesday. High pressure will build in for a short time until Friday when another cold front will make its way through the state bringing some scattered showers. After the cold front passes, the start of the will bring great weather. However, as the beginning of the week arrives a strong system will usher in unsettled weather yet again.
Short Term: High pressure dominates after the passage of a cold front. Some lingering showers for overnight but only a trace amount if any will fall. Some scattered and broken clouds will be common for most of the state in the early hours of Thursday but this will give way to mostly sunny skies. Cooler temperatures will be felt due to some cold advection from the high pressure system in place.
Long Term: A quick moving cold front will be draped across the region come Friday bringing showers to many parts of the state. The weekend looks promising up until Sunday midday when the next system will be entering the state. As the next system approaches the high pressure system gets pushed off into the Atlantic resulting in warm advection ahead of the low pressure system that will move in Sunday. A deep low will makes its way across the great lakes building in strength. Warm advection ahead of the system will cause for a dramatic warm up Sunday and Monday. Expect rainy weather Sunday into Monday as the deepening low passes to our north.
