Synopsis...
Crystal clear skies all day Tuesday. A slight chance of showers comes in for Thursday and Friday, with our first chance of snow showers possible by Saturday morning. We are also keeping an eye on a disturbance currently located in northern Texas that may impact our weather by the end of this forecasting period.
Short Term...
The WRF shows a very strong high pressure system building in to the north of the state Tuesday morning. This will create a very clear day for the entire state, as well as hold a northerly flow which should keep temperatures cooler. On Wednesday, this strong high pressure system will move off to the east, which should permit for some clouds to build in as the day progresses on Wednesday. Temperatures, through this reasoning and by MOS, should be a bit warmer Wednesday than on Tuesday.
Long Term...
By late day Wednesday or early Thursday morning, some areas to the west may see a scattered shower from a passing warm front. The WRF indicates this frontal system isn't particularly strong, and should not be a major rainmaker on Thursday. Later during the day Thursday, a steady westerly flow will build in behind this system, which behind this cold front should help to keep temperatures a bit warmer during the morning hours Friday morning compared to Thursday. High temperatures, however, should be a lot cooler Friday compared to Thursday. A scattered shower may be possible in most regions, as the merging low pressure system currently over Texas merges with this low pressure system and moves up the Atlantic Seaboard. While the models do show this system staying well off the coast, there may be enough moisture with it to keep a chance of scattered showers possible for Friday. This may also allow for a few snow flurries on Saturday morning, especially in the northern and western regions. Otherwise, Saturday will be a touch cooler compared to Friday with partly cloudy skies for most regions.
