Technical Discussion
Synopsis...
Tranquil weather pattern to persist through Saturday with strong ridge remaining entrenched across eastern third of the nation. Sunny skies and mild temperatures expected.
Short Term/Long Term (Tue-Sat)...
Not much to discuss in this forecast package. Only thing to keep it from being sunny across the entire Commonwealth today are the clouds in the northern half of the state due to the northwesterly flow on the backside of the ocean storm that brought precip to New England and coastal regions yesterday. Expect a mix of sun and clouds north with mostly sunny skies south today. Skies will begin to clear tonight across northern areas with abundant sunshine for the entire area tomorrow except NE where a few more clouds could linger. The same theme will persist for the rest of the week with mostly sunny skies, cool nights, and warm days. High temperatures will be above normal (50s and low 60s) and MOS guidance looked good. Warmest days are Friday and Saturday as cold front pushes through the Midwest. This will be our next weather maker but at this point looks fairly weak with only increasing clouds and possibly a scattered shower either late Saturday night or Sunday. A cool down and a period of more active weather is expected next week.
