Synopsis
Rainy conditions will persist until Thursday night due to a cutoff low staying relatively stationary off to our west. By Friday, the low pressure will begin to push out, however we cannot rule out the chance for isolated showers due to excessive moisture in the atmosphere. Partly to mostly cloudy skies and higher temperatures regionally are expected for Friday moving into the weekend.
Short Term (Through Friday):
As former depression Lee is leaving the commonwealth, heavy bands of rain will continue to fall overnight and clear up by Thursday night, leaving isolated showers possible for Friday. Flooding is a major issue state wide as amounts up to 8 inches of accumulation total are expected in some areas. Temperatures should stay in the low to mid 70s through Friday as this system pulls out of the state. Hurricane Katia is too far offshore to pose any threats to the commonwealth.
Long Term (Through Monday)
Conditions will clear for our weekend as clouds will begin to diminish leaving us with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s for most of the commonwealth, and we could even see temperatures soaring into the upper 70s for southeast PA due to an upper level ridge pushing up a warm southerly flow of air.
