Technical Discussion

Synopsis:

A cold front that will pass through the region Sunday night along with the humid air mass that moved in over the weekend will bring showers and possible thunderstorms throughout the state on Monday. High pressure will move into the region for the rest of the week, with the possibility of the remnants Lee bringing unstable weather to our area.

Discussion:

Showers and thunderstorms that we saw on Sunday will continue for most of the day on Monday. The 0Z WRF has the remnants of Lee affecting the state as early as Tuesday afternoon and doesn't show much of a break in precipitation from the passing cold front. The 12Z GFS shows the cold front passing through quicker and a break in the precipitation on Tuesday, before Lee's remnants pass through Wednesday late-morning. The 18Z GFS shows less of a break in the precipitation, much like the 0Z WRF, the 0Z GFS hasn't been updated yet as of 11:00PM. Both the 12Z and 18Z are in agreement that Lee could continue to bring rain showers to the state up until Friday.
