Tuesday Evening Technical Discussion

A weak front will move through the state early Wednesday bringing a few showers across the state. The GFS keeps most of Pennsylvania dry early Wednesday while the NAM brings some showers mainly to Eastern Pennsylvania. Skies will clear as we move into the afternoon as temperatures spike back into the upper 70's and lower 80's. A few areas may be able to reach the upper 80's as models will likely bust too low tomorrow as the area will be pre-frontal. A strong cold front will move through the state Thursday brining rain to areas in Western Pennsylvania by Wednesday night while areas in Eastern Pennsylvania will begin seeing showers late Thursday morning. Atmosphere should be conducive enough for many areas to see thunderstorms as we move into Thursday afternoon. Models have around .5in of precipitation across the state except for southeastern Pennsylvania which will see only around .20in of precipitation as the front passes to their north. Temperatures will drop over 20 degrees below the front with well below average temperatures Thursday night. Many areas will drop to the 40's Thursday night, with a few areas even dropping into the 30's. Temperatures will only rise back into the lower 60's on Saturday as the cold air holds its ground across Pennsylvania. High pressure will move into the area later Friday bringing drier conditions for the weekend as well as some warmer air as temperatures will rebound close to 70 by Sunday.
