Synopsis
A strong cold front moved through the area this afternoon which caused temperatures to plummet. Behind this cold front, high pressure will build into the area and dominate our weather for the next couple of days. Once this high pressure slowly weakens and moves off to the northeast, we will gradually warm up as a more pronounced ridge moves overheads. The next weather maker looks to be a northern stream disturbance that could move through the area mid-next week.
Short Term
Temperatures continue to fall this evening as high pressure begins to move in. Some areas will radiate well tonight especially in the northwest counties. Places such as Bradford and surrounding towns should see widespread frost tonight and even Friday Night. 00z NAM MOS is 34 and 31, respectively for Thursday and Friday nights. With high pressure over the area and clear skies, temperatures should rebound fairly quickly during the day through Sunday and fall quickly at night.
Long Term
Temperatures will continue gradually moderate as winds turn to the south and warm air advection occurs as the high pressure slides of the coast late this weekend. Monday and Tuesday will feature highs in the 70's which is closer to normal for this time of year. Mid-week there is a chance for showers as a disturbance approaches from the west.
