Synopsis
Rain and wind will continue to batter central and eastern Pennsylvania overnight Wednesday into Thursday. The heaviest of the rains will diminish through the day on Thursday as the closed off low drifts westward. The weekend will bring chances of showers and thunderstorms as the weakens and begins to move out.
Short Term (Through Friday)
Former tropical depression Lee continues to stir up moisture from the gulf stream and deposit it over the commonwealth. Heavy bands of rain will persist overnight tonight into Thursday morning. Central and eastern portions of the state have already experienced rain on the order of inches, with flooding and closures. Another 2-3 inches is not out of the question with these heavy bands moving through tonight. As Thursday progresses, the closed off low will begin to drift west. As a result, rain will become more widespread into Thursday afternoon and Friday, with temperatures rebounding into the mid 70's and 80's over the western portion of the state on Friday.
Long Term (Saturday through Monday)
Upper level low associated with all this rain and flooding will slowly dissipate and head out this weekend. Showers and thunderstorms mixed with sun and clouds will be the main story through Monday, though conditions will improve with each successive day. Temperatures for Saturday and Sunday will be quite seasonable, with warmer than average conditions possible where there are breaks in the cloud cover.
