Synopsis...
Cold front will sweep through tomorrow after a day of unseasonably mild temps. High pressure to build in for middle of the week.
Short Term...
Warm front will continue to push northward overnight. Quite a large temp gradient across the state with 84 in the SW and 48 in the NE. Clouds have finally cleared out of the western half of the state late this afternoon. Low temps in the eastern half of the state may occur early tonight before warm front lifts through the area and cause temps to rise due to the WAA. Temperatures warm up everywhere tomorrow as we move into the warm sector ahead of the approaching cold front. Biggest issue tomorrow is the possibility of severe weather (especially gusty winds). SPC has entire state in the slight risk and the eastern half with a 30% chance of severe weather. Could be a nice squall line that forms tomorrow afternoon. Have mentioned gusty thunderstorms in the forecast. Front will clear the state overnight with falling temps.
Long Term...
Model differences on Tuesday regarding evolution of trailing 500mb trough. GFS cuts it off over the Delmarva, allowing the eastern half the state to see light rain and dreary conditions. NAM is less gloomy but still has a few showers. Have gone with just a a few showers for now due to general poor model handling of cut off lows. Wed/Thu look to be typical "Chamber of Commerce" type days with temps above average (60s to low 70s) and sunny skies!
