Synopsis
Clear skies and gusty winds will occur on Thursday before showers associated with a warm front moves into the area Friday morning. The showers will continue to fall through Saturday morning.
Showers will begin to become more widespread and heavier throughout the day on Saturday as an area low of pressure moves to our northwest. Showers look to persist into Sunday morning.
Temperatures will remain above normal from Saturday into mid next week as a southern ridge builds into the area.
Short Term (Wednesday Evening into Friday morning)
As a strong cold continues to bring cold air behind with it, low temperatures across the state will fall into the 30's. Temperatures will slightly rebound on Thursday
into upper 40s to low 50's with mostly sunny skies. There is also the potential for strong northwest winds throughout the day on Thursday as skies clear and deep mixing occurs.
As a surface high builds into the area from west, warm advection will begin over the area later in the day on Thursday. Clouds associated with an area of low pressure that is
projected to move to the west into the Great Lakes region during the day on Friday will bring the chance for showers later in the day into Saturday.
Midterm (Friday evening in Sunday morning)
As stronger forcing develops over the area Friday afternoon, steadier heavy showers will begin to fall and this looks to continue through the evening all the way into even Saturday evening.
Both the GFS and NAM indicate the possibility of total rainfall amounts of up to one inch. As this low continues off to the northeast Saturday evening, there is still the possibility for some
lingering showers into Sunday morning.
Long Term (Sunday into Monday)
As we head into Sunday morning, the warm front will continue to push north and keep us with above normal temperatures. Showers remain possible on Sunday morning
before things begin to dry out. Monday looks to be drier with above normal temperatures as ridge begin to strengthen over the area.
