Synopsis
A cold front will be making its way into the southeastern part of Pennsylvania tonight. This front will be bringing some gusty and breezy conditions to some places. A high pressure system will be making its way in Tuesday and departing off the coast on Wednesday. A southwest flow will be bringing very warm air through Friday, which could bring temperatures into the 60s in spots. After this warm air, another cold front is expected to make its way in for the weekend. Temperatures for next week appear to be much colder.
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 1 AM TUESDAY MORNING/...
A relatively mild air mass occurring over much of PA today will be overridden by a cold air mass from a clipper system and cold front making its way in to the northeast United States. Strong positive vorticity seen by the WRF and GFS models show rising motion for tomorrow. This could produce precipitation in areas, but not much is expected to accumulate. In the mountains tonight, some areas could see light snow accumulation. Temperatures will slowly fall this evening, and there will be gusty and windy conditions evident.
.SHORT TERM /1 AM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...
With an approaching high pressure system and negative vorticity seen in the WRF and GFS models, clouds will be disappearing bringing colder weather this evening and sunny skies tomorrow in most places.
&&
.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
An approaching trough and above normal heights will be causing above normal temperatures for PA. The warm sector from a cold front will also help with the warming trend for much of PA. Not much precipitation is expected this week, but there are chances for precipitation in the upper western regions of PA. With a cold front passing through parts of PA on Friday, some precipitation is expected, and this will also be the warmest day for most parts of PA. After this passage, colder temperatures are expected.
