Forecast Discussion

 Synopsis:

A storm system currently affecting the area will move up from the Delmarva Coast and will pull away from the area overnight. This will allow conditions improve to over the region Thursday and Friday before a new storm system approaches.

Short-term: Thursday

As the low pressure system moves away to the east, conditions will improve during the day on Thursday.  Temperatures look remain below normal on Thursday and Friday.

Mid-Term (Friday-Sunday)

As a high pressure moves into the region on Friday, skies look to be clearer, with partly cloudy skies.  Friday looks to be a nice day for everyone, although temperatures will hover in the mid- 30s for most regions. Temperatures should remain below normal as 850 mb temps are rather cold at -8 to -12 Celsius. Another storm system looks to approach the state from the Midwest again on Saturday into Sunday. There is the possibility for more storm but the exact precipitation types have yet to be determined. It could bring a chance of showers for most of the region, with places to the west having a greater shot of getting snow accumulations.

Long Term (Monday-Tuesday)

After the weekend system moves away, the weather should give us a break with mostly dry conditions on Monday and Tuesday with temperatures a few degrees below normal before the possibility for another storm to affect the region mid next week
