Synopsis:
Expect increasing clouds throughout the day as a storm system approaches Pennsylvania from the Midwest. A cold front will pass through the state on Tuesday night. This precipitation should start off as rain, but then we expect that this precipitation will become more of a mix to snow later on Wednesday. The regions to the North and Northeast will have the greatest chance of seeing frozen precipitation. By Thursday morning most of the precipitation should have cleared out, but cooler temperatures will persist throughout the rest of the week.
Short-term (Tuesday):
After a day of cloudy skies, a storm system approaches from the Midwest. The cold front will pass through the region tonight. While most areas will see rain at first, areas to the north and northeast have a greater chance of a mix of frozen precipitation.
Mid-term (Wednesday – Thursday):
The low pressure system continues to affect the state all throughout Wednesday. Regions to the north and northeast will have the greatest chance for snow and sleet, especially as the day progresses. The precipitation should end on Thursday morning, leaving chillier temperatures in its wake. Expect partly cloudy skies on Thursday.
Long-term (Friday-Saturday)
Friday looks to be clearer, with mostly cloudy skies. Another storm system looks to approach the state from the Midwest again on Saturday. Although, it is still unclear which part of the state this system will hit.
