Synopsis
As high pressure takes over the region today, we expect to see sunny and calm weather until a weak cold front passes through the region on Wednesday. This cold front will only bring with it a few clouds, especially in the Northern parts of the state. High pressure will set up again on Thursday. As the high pressure moves up to the northeast, cold air damming will set up. An area of low pressure to the northwest of Pennsylvania will bring a mix of precipitation to the region starting on Friday morning, eventually changing to rain. Another area of low pressure will quickly follow the previous system, bringing more precipitation for the weekend.
Short Term (Tuesday – Wednesday)
High pressure builds into the region today following a stormy Monday. A weak, moisture starved cold front will pass through the Commonwealth on Wednesday, bringing only a few passing clouds.
Mid-term (Thursday – Friday)
High pressure will build into the region again on Thursday. As the high pressure system moves to the northeast, cold air damming will set up. A low pressure system to the northwest of the state will bring a mix of precipitation to the region starting on Friday morning, changing to rain later that day.
Long Term (Saturday-Sunday)
Another low pressure system will quickly follow the previous one, bringing precipitation to the state again on Saturday through Sunday. This system will be stronger than the last system, and will most likely bring rain to the region as precipitation will fall in the region as we are in the warm sector of the front.
