Synopsis
This morning sunshine will be short lived as a low pressure system to our west will bring periods of rain tonight. We will clear again Wednesday with high pressure to the south and a generally southerly flow. The next Low effects the region Friday into Saturday, albeit likely without very much moisture.
Short term
A low pressure system will traverse through the Ohio Valley this afternoon into tonight. The associated warm front will usher in some warmer temperatures today for the whole state. The precipitation should move in this evening and overnight. Generally it appears precip will be lighter in the western half of the state and heavier in the east, which could see some heavier periods of rain. Wednesday will be quieter and a high to the south will slowly erode away the clouds.
Long term
A strong southerly flow between the high and the next storm system will warm up the state to above normal levels for the second half of the week. A large portion of the state should see 60's by Friday. Our next system should be carrying less moisture than tonight's storm, and most of that moisture looks to stay to the north of the state. When the cold front pushes through Friday night it shouldn't bring more than a couple showers showers across the region. What it will bring is colder temperatures behind it with the 540 height line cutting though the state once again. Temperatures will return to normal levels on Saturday and Sunday.
