Synopsis...

A southern-tracking wave will impact the area tuesday night and wednesday as it moves into the northeast. A warm high pressure system will move over Pennsylvania following this storm to bring a warm southwesterly flow for thursday and friday. Warm temperatures are expected for the last half of the week.
Short Term...
Today will remain mainly sunny as a high pressure system moves over the area centered over the northeast. This high will move off the eastern coast later tonight and into tomorrow morning allowing a shortwave disturbance to move into the area to bring some rain to the state late on tuesday and into wednesday morning. Both the GFS and WRF models seem to agree that the heaviest precipitation will mainly be in the eastern half of the state. SREF models agree that there is a very low probability for snow out of this storm anywhere in PA. The showers should wrap up by late on Wednesday. Not a lot of significant cold air advection will occur behind this low pressure system, which will keep temperatures mild.
Long Term...
A high pressure system builds over the southeastern states thursday to bring significant warm air advection with a southwesterly flow over the state. A shortwave disturbance will ride up and over this strong ridge on thursday and friday, which may bring a few showers to northern parts of the state, but it looks like the cold front from this low pressure system will not bring significant precipitation to the state as it fizzles out friday night bringing no precip for southeastern parts of the state. Temperatures will be warm thursday and friday with a slight cool down as the cold front from this second storm system skims the northern part of the state. It looks like a much broader trough will be moving towards the east over the weekend to possibly bring us back down to normal or below normal temperatures by next sunday and early next week.
