Synopsis
Another low pressure system is racing across the region, brought with it a line of showers and thunderstorms. This line brought about .1" of rain to the central region of Pennsylvania, while western and eastern regions saw around .3", currently as of 12z, the line is in extreme Eastern Pennsylvania. Behind this line, skies remain mostly cloudy and will remain so for the next 48-72 hours.
Short Term (Monday-Tuesday)
Another short wave will make its presence over the region Monday (most likely during the late and overnight hours on Monday). The 0z GFS shows hardly any precipitation for the Commonwealth, while the 0z WRF/NAM shows precipitation in a scattered nature for NE/NC/NW regions. We went with an isolated chance over these three regions, while the rest of the state remains partly to mostly cloudy. Both the 0z GFS and 0z WRF/NAM show that the last day of "cloudiness" will be Tuesday, as the winds will turn away from Lake Erie.
Long Term (Wednesday-Thursday)
Moving to the Long Range 0z GFS, Wednesday looks to be the best of the 5 day period, with mostly sunny conditions. But that will not last as the GFS shows another powerful trough. This trough looks to stay in Canada, but will hook up with a low pressure in the Mid-West. And according to this GFS run, Thursday night looks to be a wet night. But the models 5-7 days out seem to be 12 hours behind what actually occurs, so we advanced the cold front to enter the Commonwealth late Thursday Afternoon and leaving sometime during the overnight.
Temperatures:
High temperatures during the next 5 day period look to be in the mid and upper 60's to lower 70's for all of the Commonwealth, there looks to be no big temperature differences during the next 5 days.
