Technical Forecast

Synopsis

A low pressure system will move across the state for the day on Thursday bringing showers and thunderstorms along with it. Behind this disturbance, an area of high pressure will move over the area and build for the first part of the weekend. A weak cold front will pass through on Sunday and as of now it is looking like it will go through dry.

Short term(Thurs-Fri)

The models are showing a low pressure system moving across the area for Thursday. The clouds will start to move in starting more in the western areas then eventually covering most of the state by the afternoon/evening hours. The  12 Z NAM is showing a line of showers/storms moving through, with a second batch behind it. From looking at the models, it seems that the eastern part of the state will most likely stay dry until later in the day. From the GFS 850s being around 15c, the eastern parts of the state could reach into the 80s for the day tomorrow. The NAM also has a 15-20 knot wind across the state for Thursday, which is why I put windy in the forecast. An area of high pressure  moves in for Friday will should bring sunshine.

Long term(Sat-Sun)

Saturday looks to be a picture perfect day with temperatures in the 70s, as the GFS has 12c 850s for the state. A weak cold front moves in for Sunday, bringing clouds along with it. The GFS has a few showers across the state, but as it is looking now and with the low pressure so far north, I think the front will go through rain free. I did mention that an isolated shower is possible but I do not think there is enough of a chance to put an icon on the site.
