Technical Discussion

Synopsis…

A warm front moved through the region bringing well above normal temperatures for today and tomorrow. Temperatures will drop significantly and become more seasonal as a cold front passes through late Friday.

Short Term…

A warm front moved through the area bringing well above normal temperatures. High's Friday will approach the record high of 88. A cold front from the west will pass through the region overnight on Friday. The main concern will be the breezy conditions associated with the front.  Temperatures will drastically drop becoming more seasonable. WRF has a very strong southwesterly flow through 00z Saturday.   Winds pick up and shift West overnight Friday. 18z WRF has wind estimates at around 15-20 knots Saturday. Precipitation is unlikely to be a problem as this front passes. If anything, a few scattered showers will pop up.

Long Term…

We agree with the previous discussion on the long term. Some further observations include a very prominent trough developing early next week in the central US. The 18z NAM has the 300mb jet cutting way down into the southeast by Monday. Showers are possible throughout the next week as things will be fairly unsettled for the next couple of days.
