Synopsis
Skies will be clearer and temperatures warmer today with the passage of the upper-level low and being ahead of the next system. Rain will move to the east across the Great Lakes and Ohio River valley and enter western PA late this evening.
Short-term (Saturday - Monday)
Both the WRF and many SREF members were light on precip amounts tonight and Sunday on their 0Z (or 3Z) runs, and the new 12Z WRF has upped precip amounts across all of PA. CWS forecast is probably too scattered and light on the rain. WRF continues to be behind GFS and is even 2-3 hours behind radar.
With the secondary front on Monday, the rain may or may not stay north and west of Harrisburg and Philly, depending on whether you ask GFS or WRF. As there is almost no access to moisture from the Gulf of Mexico or Atlantic, I would tend toward the GFS and WRF 12Z solution of limited showers in these areas.
Long-term (Tuesday-Wednesday)
A similar pattern to the week after Labor Day for the middle of next week as the trough stays to our northeast and gives us a strong northwest flow.
