Forecast Discussion

Synopsis...

Rain ending for most regions during the overnight tonight. Our next system looks to move through on Thursday. Temperatures looks to remain seasonable for this time of year. Details to come...

Short Term...

Any trace of precipitation left over from this last system looks to vacate the state by 15Z Tuesday, based on the WRF. A high pressure system located over southern Canada will sink its way down in its place, and will stimulate the weather through Wednesday in the form of mostly clear skies for most regions. MOS holds temperatures near seasonable averages on Tuesday, and about 5-8 degrees colder on average on Wednesday. Wednesday looks to be as good of a fall day as we've had in the past few weeks with mostly sunny skies and cooler but mild temperatures compared to the mid 70s of recent.

Long Term...

Our next big weathermaker comes into play in the very early morning hours of Thursday. The WRF times a cold front to begin moving through around midnight on Wednesday (or Thursday morning). The LIs and CAPEs associated with this system are very insignificant, but should have enough initial moisture to bring some measurable amount of precipitation to most areas. Temperatures behind this front will drop off into the low 50s for Thursday and remain similar for Friday as a cool, westerly wind builds in behind this system. Some precipitation should linger through the day Thursday and should be almost clear of the area by Friday morning. From Friday during the daytime through the early weekend, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies initially with a slow decrease in cloud coverage through the weekend. Temperatures will also climb back up, with some regions possibly reaching the 60s again by Sunday.
