Synopsis: Well above normal temperatures will be occurring in the State of Pennsylvania up until Wednesday. We will be seeing about a 15 degree increase in temperatures from what we normally see this time of year as highs will reach into the mid 70's, according to the MOS output. Rainy conditions will be the main story into the earlier part of this week as we have a very strong low pressure system that will be affecting our weather, bringing in showers up until Wednesday afternoon.
Short-Term: Looking for the GFS and WRF models, there is a batch of rain showers from the Southeast heading into the afternoon on Monday as we are on the outskirts of the low pressure system. On Tuesday we will be seeing clouds increase as the low pressure system from the Mid-West will push up into Ontario, Canada. The clouds and rain from this low pressure system will move through the state relatively fast, entering the Western part of the state late Tuesday night and push its way into the East by Wednesday late morning according to the GFS and WRF outputs at 06UTC. After Wednesday afternoon, clouds will start to decrease and skies will become relatively clear by Wednesday night, dropping temperatures into the upper 40's from the MOS output.
Long Term: As the center of low pressure system pushes out into Northeastern Canada, Pennsylvania will be getting hit with the cold front attached to this low pressure system. This will be dropping our temperatures significantly Thursday night, as we can expect temperatures to fall into the mid 30's for a low. Friday will not be warming up much either as the lingering effects of the cold front will take way keeping the highs around 50 for the state.
