Monday Afternoon Technical Discussion

Synopsis…

We're riding the weather roller coaster this week as two cold fronts work their way through Pennsylvania. One will move through tonight and one will move through Thursday and Thursday night. It will be sunny in between and after these fronts

Short Term

This cold front will slowly work its way south through the state before stalling out over Maryland. GFS has more rain over the Southern tier of the state which I think is incorrect and therefore sided with the less rainy WRF output. Sunny skies will develop on Wednesday as dry air works over Pennsylvania from the Midwest. NWS thinks mostly clear for Wednesday however, I believe a few more clouds will stick around for Wednesday

Long Term

Rain will return Thursday as a clipper system moves through the region. Typical of a clipper system, winds will be gusty both pre and post front and I believe that high temps of Thursday will be a good 4 to 8 degrees above MOS for Thursday and a few snowflakes may mix into the higher elevations early Friday morning before this system moves out of the area. High pressure takes over for the weekend however, temperatures will be limited to the 50's for Friday and Saturday.
