Synopsis:
High pressure centered over the region will bring mostly sunny skies statewide Wednesday, before a strong cold front associated with some showers (and snow showers across NC and NW) and gusty winds enters into the state on Thursday. High pressure will move back into the area by Saturday and will provide sunny skies along with rebounding temperatures.
Forecast:
Clear skies are seen across the area now, allowing for temperatures to cool off rapidly. Morning frost is possible in some areas. Expect sunny skies and temperatures about where they should be for this time of year. Some high and mid-level clouds could move in late in the afternoon in association with the incoming cold front. Clouds will increasingly thicken overnight Wednesday into Thursday. All areas will see gusty winds and cooler temperatures as a result of the FROPA. Some of this season's first snow flakes will likely fall somewhere in the NC and NW zones on Thursday. High pressure will move back into the area Friday allowing for mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will remain cool. Continued sunshine will extend into Saturday with temperatures increasing to above average temperatures. The next chance of precipitation is on Sunday evening with the approach of another storm system. Please also refer to the previous post.
